After graduating in Physics and Computing I went on to the University of London to research for a PhD in chemical physics. Can I mention that I conducted three years of research in a basement laboratory that was formally a toilet block? Who says the life of a scientist isn't glamorous!
I continued in research for a few more years (above ground, thankfully) and then moved into education, gained my PGCE and have been teaching Technology and Science, which naturally lead me into writing.
Not everyone who studies science will go on to become a scientist but everyone who does will know more about the world around them and how it works. I hope to be able to shed a little light on this fascinating subject.
