  TAYO SOLAGBADE

Writer Photo"Tayo Solagbade devotes his time to exploring new frontiers of Self-Development Education, especially as it relates to showing people what they can do by themselves for themselves to achieve their set goals at work and/or in life - despite the limitations of their circumstances or environment. To play this role effectively, Tayo functions as a multipreneur, using himself as a "guinea pig" of sorts to explore, discover and document best practice ways of successfully venturing into various areas of endeavour."

In a previous life, Tayo worked for over seven years as a manager in Guinness Nigeria Plc during which time he successfully employed Self-Development techniques to give himself a consistent edge as Brewer, and later Technical Training and Development Manger. For instance, he built a reputation for using self-taught spreadsheet programming skills - in his spare time - to develop Automated Spreadsheet Applications to computerise manual report generation processes in the departments he worked. Over four(4) of his applications were formally adopted for brewery level reporting. This was in addition to constantly challenging the status quo and influencing positive work changes.

Before voluntarily resigning from Guinness in December 2001(to pursue a long standing dream of running his own business), he successfully acted in Senior Management roles as Production Manager and later Technical Manager.

I have always loved writing(and speaking), especially about application of one’s personal knowledge and experiences towards achieving set goals and objectives in life(i.e via Self-Development).

My objective while giving talks on Self-Development, is to influence the mental attitude of my audience so they adopt ways of thinking that will enable them achieve significant – and consistent - improvements in their personal and workplace performances.

It is my vision that through the work I now do, and by sharing a lot of my significant achievements in education, sports, paid employment etc with those who express interest, I will help others aspire to, and achieve their fullest possible potentials in life. I intend to equip myself to do this by learning from my experiences, studying what others have done and reaching out to those who have gone ahead of me – and who indicate willingness to help – for assistance.
