Looking through a blackened eye,
I felt the pain but couldn't cry.
I tried to speak and felt the rip,
From swollen tongue and busted lip.
I reached for you, to hold you near,
I loved you still throughout my fear.
You turned your back and walked away,
I laid bleeding, begged you to stay.
The lighting faded as I laid down my head,
Remembering the very last words you said..
"Why do you make me hit you? It's your fault ya know?"
…And with my last heart beat.. I just let go… let go...
