  NATASHA ASHWE

Writer PhotoNatasha Ashwe's first tentative steps into the world of writing was at the age of six when she wrote her first page long story titled 'The Flower Girl'. It was about a flower girl who ... wasn't quite a flower girl in the correct context of the term, but a 'Pollyanna' who wandered around in flower gardens.

Since then she's written more short stories, tons of poetry, and recently articles and essays on life, love and philosophy.

She is presently engaged in journalism, professional photography and freelance writing for corporate websites and magazines in Nigeria. She is also completing the second part of her fantasy adventure novel PARTED WATERS.

The unusual twist to all her themes has become the definitive trademark of her writing style and she spins tales of mystery, fantasy and romance with colorful mind pictures and words that leave you properly charmed.

Natasha Ashwe is twenty two years old, she was born on the 19th of June 1982 in Kingston, Ontario.

Natasha likes red-orange sunsets, adores wine and chocolate, loves music, is addicted to being in motion, enjoys the dark, courts perfection, lives for beautiful people [inside and out] and 'dies' for beautiful moments.

She is inspired by creative and talented, multi-faceted, real-life characters on earth.

Natasha completed PARTED WATERS; Part One, last year, and it is an enchanting fairytale filled with characters that spin the wonderful cloth off the story-telling loom and wrap a magical world around an audience that will want more.
More about the twin princesses; Kadja and Yalipha, the Shagorrian Empire and The High King Ethaen's Legacy ... more about The Ae'Anisian High Council, Aan Nikalez'Ajah, the Lord of The Black Cloth, and Unii Fal'Enai, the beautiful, red-haired Seer ... more about the young warrior, Ani S'Karen, his tiger Paelon, and the great awakening evil of the old dragon Aereka.
And there will be more.

In April 2005 the muse returned, Natasha began to write the second part of the book, and she hopes to complete the PARTED WATERS; Part Two, manuscript, alongside the project for her degree in Law!

The diverse styles of writing she utilizes in her work, which are yet bound by a common, distinguishable thread, are illustrated in the samples of her work that have been posted on this page.

'To Hold Rosanna', in 2005, which are available at Lulu.com

MY NEWS:

Natasha finished 're-writing' the short story OUT OF THE DARK she had written earlier in June 1999 recently.
It is an ironically amusing tale about the unusual adventure of four friends that set out on a quest for treasure; these friends being The Ghoul of Monstere, Lady Evilia of The Tower of Skull, Count Frederick of The Vampyre Region, and The Flame-Eyed Skeleton.
The tale grew, inevitably, and it took three months to be completed. The painting of old words with glossy polish however proved enjoyable and hopefully worthwhile.
Natasha certainly counts it as another little achievement for little her.
