Affectionately known as 'the Angel Ladies', Deborah Vaughn and Jean Porche operate out of the Angel Ladies Cottage located in beautiful Niagara-on-the-lake, Ontario(Canada).
Jean is a respected intuitive with a remarkable ability to tap into angelic and spiritual guidance to assist clients with their questions and concerns. The teachings that she shares have changed many lives and she is gaining an international clientele.
Deb has been a priest for over 20 years and offers weddings, baby namings, house blessings, and other celebrations. Recently they established the Holy Angels Community in the anglican/catholic tradition under the authority of the Old Catholic Church of Canada.
Deborah, who is a parish priest, has a journalism degree but decided to 'follow her spirituality' by going back to college and earning an MA in divinity and then getting ordained 20 years ago.
Jean received a journalism scholarship but went to Southeastern University, majored in English Education and ended up teaching and supervising the school newspapers,annuals,etc.
Jean went to Catholic school where she was taught about angels. One of her teachers told her that each one had a guardian angel," but my angel talked back to me. His name was John and when I was a small child he showed me flowers-it was a wonderful way to grow up," she related.And from time to time, 'John' would do small favors for her. Specifically, he would see that she received needed information-as for tests-just in the nick of time. Her friends also asked to 'borrow' John occasionally.
"Even being a priest, I never really had thought of angels as personal things," explained Deborah.Ten years ago I was approached by a lady in our parish to do a presentaion on angels-what they are and how they help."
"Then another group wanted me to do a presentation about angels and I suddenly found myself inundated with angels," she laughed."At this point I still didn't see how really close to angels I was. As I started to do workshops, I became aware that angels are real- a gift from God-a way of connecting everyone on the planet," she pointed out.
Together the 'angel ladies' wroteANGELS HELP US:DISCOVERING DIVINE GUIDANCE. How did they happen to write this book? It seems the angels told them to tell the people that we are not alone. So they proposed an article and sent in to the Toronto Star and the editor of the Body & Soul page.He wrote them back and said he was interested so the ladies asked the angels what to write. When they had finished the article, they had 1600 words and the editor only left out two small sentences!
A book company then approached them to do a book on angels, but when they decided not to publish it, they found another company who offered to do the publishing after all."It fell into our lap!" Jean laughed.
And they have been shown many things by psychic friends."Once you are open,you pick up on things you don't normally recognize as intuitive insight," Jean said."Angels promote love. They are a channel for divine love and are about channeling love to others," she said.
"One thing the angels made clear to me," Jean said, "is that God is on everyone's side. And we have to be tolerant of others thoughts. You and your angel are a team. If I need information about you, I ask John to ask your angel. If the message is especially long or complicated, I will ask to have permission to channel your angel,"she said."You always start by grounding yourself in prayer. I am just now starting to recover my sense of mystery about angels."
Both ladies agree that as they have grown older the angels are showing them their(angels) sense of majesty. But they both say it is never overwhelming.
"At a certain point I had to take a huge leap of faith," admitted Deborah,"I reached a point where I was certain the angels knew that I knew that I knew.And you can't stay in a box of doctrine. There are people who need angelic help who may not have been raised in your religious tradition-or who may have become alienated from it.Angels are beloved. You can't talk about angels and not talk about God. They help you recover your sense of joy and they are there to help. Being aware of angels opens you to bigger things."
"Think of a weight(motor) behind your motorboat," Jean explained."Angels are quick to assist when we call. We can leave a blessing behind us and we send angels to do this-to leave money, send courage, end war,to make us aware that we have the power to change the course of events. And we can do this without ever leaving our living rooms. Send out intentions to bless, and the angels will assist. The whole point is love. If your day is brighter, you are brighter. Smiling raises vibrations. It doesn't matter what you do in life-so long as you do it with love," she concluded.
