The written word has always played an important role in my life. Being an avid reader, teacher and writer, manipulation of the language has always come naturally to me.
My days are generally filled with literary composition of some sort, whether it takes the form of a ghostwriting assignment that I'm working on or a sonnet that buzzes around in my head and won't leave me in peace until I've given it a voice through my pen.
I've published a great number of literary pieces under my own name, but have also been contracted to do a good amount of ghostwriting for others, including a lot of ad copy for companies that don't have a staff writer.
A brief overview of the types of writing that I've done include poetry, informative articles, humor, ad copy, technical manuals (I'm an I.T. veteran of more than 25 years), web content and descriptive text for national agencies and non-profit groups.
On a personal note, I currently reside in New England with no dogs (I say this because writers inevitably have them and, much as I'd love to, I don't). My educational background includes a double major - Computer Science and Religious Education - so I decided to combine them and teach Computer Science. I've done this mostly at the collegiate level, but have been known to teach a Kindergarten class or two in my earlier years.
While I enjoy most forms of writing, one of my goals is to obtain a position as a columnist for a newspaper or magazine, in addition to doing freelance work.
On a final note, I've been told by a close relative that, according to our family geneology, I'm a direct descendent of Alfred, Lord Tennyson. I suppose that someone must be related to him, but I have no actual documented proof sitting in front of me at this moment showing that I'm that particular "someone", so I can't say with absolute certainty that she's correct. One never knows with old aunts.

- Listed in Best New Poets of the 20th Century and awarded Poet of the Year for three consecutive years

I'm currently available for other writing assignments, however, as I segregate certain portions of my time for the writing of bulkier items, such as books, while other portions of my time remain open for other types of writing.
