MISSION STATEMENT
As a teacher for the past six years, I have always known the art of compassion, the
benefits of cooperative learning, and the value of self-respect and respect for all others.
Teaching has given me a career of unimaginable rewards. It has taught me to listen
before I speak, be fair before I judge, embrace all diversity, and care for others
unconditionally. For these lifelong lessons, I am eternally grateful.
As a writer since childhood, I have always known the art of the written word--the
power each letter encompasses to make words and create sentences that invoke
meaning and understanding to the reader. I have always been more inclined to take
up the pen or to open a book than to assume any other hobby or activity. Writing for
me is a cathartic experience that enables me to express my emotions, offer my talents,
and polish my skills. As a writer, you are always learning, always practicing, and at
times, modeling and teaching the mechanisms of language to others. For example,
through teaching my students each year, I have been able to pass on my experiences to
even the youngest of my students, even as they initially learn to write their names. The
pride I have seen in their eyes mimics the esteem I feel for myself each time I complete
the last stanza of a new poem for my collection, or write the last sentence of a new
advertising piece for Teitel Brothers Wholesale Grocery Company.
My working career is extensive and multifaceted. Each endeavor has benefited
from the skills, aptitude and competence of my writing. I long to continue this
tradition with hopes of accomplishing greater expertise and advanced knowledge of
writing, through any means available and offered to me.
