A college graduate with a degree in English Literature, Lauren is now a stay at home mother of two daughters. With both births, Lauren experienced episodes of PPD. The primary episode went undiagnosed while the second episode was diagnosed and Lauren was placed on medication. The first medication proved to be a poor match and landed her in the hospital. With a switch of medications and strong family support, Lauren is recovering and doing so under the care of a physician combined with therapy. She has formed a peer support group for women with PPD to prevent other women from suffering in silence. Lauren is in the process of writing her memoirs of both episodes and does so to keep other women from feeling so alone.
