Here you are in the very front of Greatmayork.Honestly speaking,you would not have believed that you could meet with Greatmayork closely as you are now. Oh! It's exciting to read about his life and writings.
He is 'Mayowa Akinrogunde. Born in ibadan, the capital of Oyo state of Nigeria, he attended primary schools and later proceeded to Command Secondary School Ibadan for his secondary Education, he began writing some short stories and poems which reflected his deep interest in literature but also potrayed his own symbolic passion and tone for the culture of his people [the Yoruba people]. Even his use of words and his characteristic humour make his writings more realistic. Greatmayork is one of the young nigerian poets with impressive writings. He started writing in his early teenage years and he is still a practising poet and writer of fictions, reports, history and christian genres. His writings display nostalgia, love, uncertainties,the quest for survival, and a promise of global peace that is currently absent. Also, he is often concerned about the troubles and welfare of every people since there is a presentation of this throughout his writings. As a matter of fact, he writes with a sophisticated style which unusually makes his writings somewhat complex. A manifestation of this is seen in his last poem, "The Conquest" - a sonnet that describes the constant struggle between Truth and Falsehood.
Indeed, some of his writings were translated [and can still be translated] to some world languages like french, spanish and others, for the benefit of readers from every part of the world. Most of his write-ups are unpublished but he hope to publish them as soon as he gets publishers interested in his writing style.

A WORD WAS BROUGHT TO ME,
MY EARS CAUGHT A WHISPER OF IT
AMID DISQUIETING DREAMS IN THE NIGHT
WHEN DEEP SLEEP FALL ON MEN.
IT IS NOT THE CLATTERING OF WHEELS,

FEAR AND TREMBLING SEIZED ME

A SPIRIT GLIDED PAST MY FACE,

IT STOPPED,
BUT I COULD NOT TELL WHAT IT WAS.
A FORM STOOD BEFORE MY EYES,
AND I HEARD A HUSHED VOICE:
"TELL THE WORLD TO TURN TO ME,
THE END OF EVERYTHING IS NEAR!"

Behold the children crying.
Oh! see the mothers wailing.
Yet the fathers are dying
We say: The mighty falling!
Home and land became ashes,
the streams and rivers bloody.
Three and four at each second;
sent out of Earth in cold blood.
The battle is too scary.
How gory and alarming!
Why the horrific slaughter?
The continent in trouble.
More gloom await in future
as the present doom persists.
Ancestors were fortunate,
enjoying those glory days.
Yet in our gloom for the Land,
infinite inklings recalled.
We shouted in one accord:
The war will soon be over...
