Michael was born in Croston, Lancashire, in the United Kingdom. His writing abilities were realised at the age of nine, when his primary school teacher played some classical music for the class. Following the instruction to “write whatever comes to mind,” Michael promptly began his three-foolscap-page essay. Thus the writing instinct gave birth to the writing career. Following this, while still in his pre-teens, he undertook short stories, poems, newspaper articles, and humorous stories. He later became a member of the Society of Authors.
Upon graduation from college, Michael began work as a technical author, providing quality documentation for several prestigious computer companies. During these maturing years, he demonstrated his ability to bring complex, technical subjects within the grasp of everyday computer software users. He also became a member, and later a Fellow, of the Institute of Scientific and Technical Communicators. Michael is also a member of the British Professional Photographers Association and of the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers. He spends much of his spare time developing his photographic skills with digital cameras and emerging imaging technologies. He is also an Information Technology consultant (Microsoft certified), and a member of Mensa.
During these active years he married Linda, and together they have two children, Lisa and Clare, who are both now happily married.
In more recent years, Michael has turned his writing skills to a variety of subjects: philosophy, linguistics, religion, and current affairs, as well as progressing his technical writing skills.
