 When I was 5, I visited the library with my mom. At some point the conversation turned from the ice cream I was promised later to writers and the, at the time, fairly common practice of using pen names.
I promised Mom that day I would be a writer and that "Joshua Livingston" would be my pen name. I'm pretty happy with my real name but I plan to use the name of "Joshua Livingston" one day, either as a real pen name or a character in one of my screenplays.
My dream is to be a working screenwriter in Hollywood soon. It combines my two loves; movies and writing.
But I am not naive. I know the bills need to be paid. I currently write a weekly film review column and am open to any kind of writing that I can do well.

MY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
- Have written two original screenplays: "Mark of the Loser" and "Special" Both are registered with the WGA and "Mark of the Loser" is also registered with the U.S. Copywright Office.
- I have been the regular film critic for The South Philadelphia Review for 6 years. The Review, as it is called by us locals, is a small but respected weekly which has been serving the neighborhood for more than a half century.
- I have written a number of feature music pieces for Skope, a national magazine. Some of the artists I have written about are: The Decemberists, Rasheeda and The Bar-Kays. My Rasheeda piece can be found in the current Nov/Dec issue at most Barnes and Noble stores along with a piece about the non-profit JMH Foundation.
- I have written several pieces for the "It Happened Last Night" column on the Spin.com site. Artists I've covered are Paolo Nutini, The Lemonheads, Page France and Joseph Arthur.

MY NEWS:
I am currently focusing on trying to sell my first screenplay, "Mark of the Loser" To that end I have received requests for my script from two agents.
