  PATRICK BRUCK

Writer PhotoName: Patrick S Bruck
DOB: 10/17/1988

I'm an aspiring writer with hopes to one day become a published author. (Bet you haven't heard that story before, eh?)

I write quite alot, and i'm constantly improving...especially where grammar and spelling is concerned. However, my writing style is clear by now, and I've become comfortable writing numerous types of prose/poetry.

A basic theme in my writing is homosexuality, mostly because I myself am a gay teenager. The lack of literature--POSITIVE--literature for GLBT teens is disgusting, and I believe that it would be very, very helpful for gay teens like me to read & relate with positive characters who struggle with the same issues they have.

Many of my own political opinions and stances are present within my columns and articles. At first I may seem too opinionated, but truly I just like to get ideas out there, ideas that have been muffled by the media and bias news.

MY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
  • I've no outstanding accomplishments, although I had a silly children's book published in sixth grade...and I recieved several awards for 'academic achievement' and for reading/literature throughout school.

MY NEWS:

I am currently working on several novels. Arcane Souls, A Rift In Space, Crushed, etc. I also contstantly write poetry and short stories while I work on large projects...many of which can be found on my storywrite page.

'Excerpt from Crushed'

“So...you’re queer to eh?” Dom said bluntly as he looked me in the eyes.

“Uh–uh, yeah.” I stuttered.

Dom smiled. “Cool, I knew it. I can sense it a mile away!”

“And that’s why he still hasn’t got a boyfriend.” Fey added snidely.

“You’re one to talk. Mr. Bisexual, and yet I haven’t got word that you have a boyfriend or girlfriend.” Dom shot back.

“It’s because I set moderate standards for myself...unlike some people who screw anything that resembles a phallus.” Fey countered as he made his origami swan’s wings.

“Phallus? Who the hell says phallus?” Dom said out loud for anyone to hear.

“I do. It’s not always polite to yell vulgarities in the middle of a restaurant.” Fey replied.

While Dom and Fey spat at each other, and Kyle ogled the waiter as he went from table to table, Brandon took a deep sigh and turned his chair around to face me.

“Well, as you can see. They’re a colorful bunch. In more ways than one.” Brandon rolled his eyes.

I chuckled. “So, are they all gonna be at the club meetings?” I asked without thinking.

“Well, everyone except Dom will be there. He’s too old.” Brandon replied.

“Oh yeah, he’s twenty right? How did you two...” I paused. “Meet each other?”

Brandon raised an eyebrow. “Meet each other?” he asked. “Well, his parents and mine were good friends. When his parents found out about...his ‘preference’ they kicked him out. He lived with me and my parents after that.”

Brandon paused. “Then my parents died in an accident. My sister took care of me and let Dom stay in our parent’s apartment.”

“I see.” I said, staring into his blue eyes. “I’m sorry to hear all that.” I replied.

“It’s ok, it happened when I was like eight. I’m over it.” He smiled. “But yeah, me and Dom have been good friends forever. I think that being able to share anything with each someone...is a good quality to have in a friend.”

“Yeah. My friends are pretty cool about stuff too. They might come with me to the group if it’s ok. Well at least one of them.”

Brandon nodded. “The more the merrier. We need anybody, gay, straight, bi, trans, hell we’ll even settle for asexuals or omnisexuals! You name it, we just need ten people to keep this thing alive.”

“This means a lot to you doesn’t it?” I asked as the thought popped in my mind.

“Yeah.” Brandon said plainly, I could tell he was leaving his reasoning for it out. But it wasn’t my business. “It’ll be great if you and your friends could join the group. At least until our deadline is passed.” I nodded as our waiter came back with our steamy-delicious pizza.
