  JUNE AUSTIN

Writer PhotoI was born in Surrey, south east England in 1965, where I still live, with my partner, Coran. I always knew that I wanted to write but it was not until my mother died at the end of 1999 that I had the chance to realise this dream. My book began as a thesis for a crystal therapy course that I started in March 2000. I chose crystal skulls as my subject, as I was at that time, guardian of several of these fascinating objects. As I started to write, I found that the more research I did on skulls, the more links I found with other areas of interest, until it became clear that this was to be book, linking all these different subjects together. I never did end up practising as a crystal therapist, and looking back, I now believe that the only reason I ever did that course was in order to write this book.

It was finally published in June 2006. Eleven months later, in May 2007, I brought out a second updated edition with brand new cover and added text.

I have a lifelong interest in ancient mysteries and spiritual philosophy and studied the history of ancient Egypt and Mesopotamia, as well as human origins via Birkbeck College in London.

I have also had several articles published, in various magazines and on the internet. I also act as editor for my local community newsletter, Boxhill News, here in Surrey. I have appeared on both British and American radio and also Korean television. I am a regular speaker at St Michael’s non-denominational church in Ewell, as well as various discussion groups throughout the south-east.

In addition to my writing, I also have a great love of travel, and the outdoors, having visited 26 countries around the world. I am most at home though visiting my favourite retreat of Lundy, a small island in the Bristol Channel.

MY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
  • Becoming one of the first POD authors in the UK whose book is available through Gardners books on sale or return.
  • Selling more copies in the weeks following this announcement than in the entire previous 12 months.
  • Overcoming my fear of public speaking and self promotion in order to make this possible.
  • Choosing the right publisher who was willing to help and having the foresight to see through others hype.

MY NEWS:

The original edition of my book was published in June 2006, with a second, updated edition in May 2007 with brand new cover. In August 2007, the book was accepted by Gardners Books, the largest wholesaler in the UK, as a stocked title available on sale or return. Since then I have been busy contacting book stores up and down the country, as well as various forms of media, including both national and local press, as well as radio and television.

The book has already been featured in Writing and Self Publishing Magazine as well as local press. It has also received some excellent reviews where it was compared as the opposite to Richard Dawkins best selling work, The God Delusion.

Readers Reviews

Genesis of Man covers some highly topical and controversial subjects regarding religion and science. If you have read The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins, then you will love this book, because it serves the opposite viewpoint.

The book is well researched - it is laden with scientific, Biblical and historical evidence to support its arguments. It would be ideal as a companion to academic studies in subjects such as theology, philosophy and the social sciences. The book also achieves what it set out to do; answering all and more of the questions in its blurb

The Self Publishing Magazine

This book is certain to become a learning tool in the future of our spiritual awakening. If you are searching for more and are ready to start thinking outside of the box where our origins are concerned, then this book is a must read.

Leslie, Michigan, United States

I've been reading ancient history books about different parts of the world then a friend lent me a copy of 'Genesis of Man' It's fascinating, your book brought together and made sense of a lot of the 'strands' from the other books. I could have just read your book.

Lindsay, West Sussex

Given the great number of topics covered, it's inevitable that anyone will find things of interest within these pages. It's all mentioned here, or has a chapter on it, from the Book of Enoch to Zecharia Sitchin, from whether Jesus married Mary Magdalene and had a bloodline to the lost continents of Lemuria and Atlantis.

David, Somerset

Written with panache and obvious knowledge - and easy to absorb - will give readers an entirely new outlook on many age old questions regarding who we really are, where we may come from, and pointers towards the possibility of different truths about the crucifixion.

Gill, Lincoln

It is very interesting and resonates with me. I especially liked how you said this is your truth. That I think is important because many may not try to understand what you wrote if they thought you were trying to convince them of something.

Zelda, South Africa

A truly wonderful book! It's so clear and concise, free of jargon and waffle, and summarises a host of important facts that need circulating to the widest possible audience. You've done us all a great service.

John, Lancashire
