  SUZY STEPHENSON

A day will come,
when we are free to live as one,
a time full of passion
a day full of love,
all creeds together
to share so much.

Life is too short
to hate one another,
we should be united
as sister and brother,
live all in one peace
rid the world of the prejudice disease.

Too many suffer
at the hands of another,
gay bashings a plenty,
as hearts fill up empty,
yet still on we go
laugh in the face of a flame,
as we stand tall and proud
our lives still the same.

hate us you may
you just don't understand,
I offer my friendship,
in the shake of my hand,
listen to our words,
as we share them with you,
learn we are one and the same,
as we learn what to do.

Our day will come
when we all live as one,
no pain and no suffering,
a peaceful journey begun.

BookFor The Love of A Child
Time passes an eternity as I sit here
watching, waiting, praying, hoping, wishing
to no avail as the sun sets on the horizon.
Despite waiting for what seems forever,
everything remains unchanged.
It's the same today as it was yesterday
and as the days I spent here with you.
The crystal waters lapping upon the sand
the dunes hiding things around the corners,
a dene left to malevolent beasties
clambering among the dewdrops and daisies,
the birds in the sky call your name
as their swooping wings narrowly miss you.
The pitter-patter of the marching ants
as they hunt for food.

Isn't it amazing how a wondrous place
can spark many memories of yesteryear,
Childhood memories of a treasured Granda
Who has travelled from one life to another,
Taking with him memories of love from a child
BookThe Trenches

Dedicated to those who lost their lives in order for us to survive...

It's 1945 and I sit here all alone,

my gun within my hands,

the enemy in my sites again

as I crawl across the lands.

We all go together as a team,

blood falling round our eyes,

as Hitler spouts his rubbish out

and they all believe his lies.

I miss my home, I miss my Mam

as I sit here in the trench,

the mud flows everywhere,

our noses taste the stench.

Yet on we go we know we must,

the world needs us to be strong,

the fear within grows more and more

as each day seems so long.

I write my letter send it home

not sure if it will land,

and I try not to share this pain

as I write in shaky hand.

This war is over in my heart

though on it goes I know,

I hate the pain and suffering

and I miss my life back home.

But freedom will be nigh without

our fighting till the end,

as we trounce the worst atrocities

and peace shall soon descend.
