I am standing in my business office on the 28th floor of my central London business and apartment tower, staring out at the dreary scene without really seeing it. London is not having a good weather day, and the dreary weather is somehow appropriate to my thoughts. I turn back to my desk and to the letter that caused me to rise and stare out the window thinking.
I re-read it carefully. The letter is hand written by an acquaintance, not a close friend, and I know the poor man had to be desperate to write such a letter. Even though we don't have frequent contact, the letter is very out of character and is an appeal for help. The tone of the letter gives me cause for concern that Philip Phillips might be contemplating suicide.
Gail Carino comes into my office with a cup of fresh tea, she is two months pregnant and positively radiates beauty. She is Italian and has very expressive eyes. She is showing no outward signs yet and her lush figure is still as curvatious as ever. She suffers no morning sickness, and still works out in the basement gym with special exercises for a mum to be.
Gail was originally the fiancée of a friend and the daughter of a mafia chief when I first met her. After the friend was killed in an event involving her father she became my secretary and changed her name from Caroni to Carino. She will have nothing to do with her father after Nikita, Margarita, Paula, and I, literally rescued her from a mafia stronghold off the coast of Sicily in a vicious firefight.
First, she put me on a pedestal of hero worship, and then as we got more used to each other, a strong friendship formed. The friendship evolved, strangely aided and abetted by Nikita Lee, and I am the reason she is pregnant. I had thought she was using the new patch method of birth control and have suspicions that she tricked me into becoming a father.

Attractive young women are disappearing in the South Pacific at a rate of five a week, fifty-three in all, when billionaire Michael Danvers rejoins his two 'trophy' women; Nikita Lee and Grace Timmings. They are asked to trace the white slavery organization back to its source and rescue all the victims. Mike is still not sure about his companion's motivation on a personal level and their entangled relationships continue.
With the aid of an Australian Doctor they develop high technology diet pills and distribute them to twenty thousand girls who might be on the targeted list for future abduction. Developing the pill, and the subsequent tracking of the latest victims, leads them to all the girls currently awaiting shipment in Australia.
In a unique rescue mission using hot air balloons they set out to rescue this batch while Angie Bishop their secret service controller takes on the task of rescuing the latest auction candidates. Angie is wounded, kidnapped, and raped, aboard a Japanese fishing boat used to transport the victims.
They need a ledger of the purchasers found at Angie's battle site and have to break in to secret service headquarters to copy it. Nikita dresses in revealing clothes and successfully distracts the guard.
Grace interviews both the recently captured girls and those that have been held in captivity by their purchasers. They prepare a plan of action and taking matters into his own hands Danvers administers a punishment fit the crime to four of the high profile buyers using his private resources.
