My name is Lisa LaTourette-Pershan, I am twenty-four years old, and have been writing since I was old enough to hold a pencil. I completed my first "novel" at age nine; had my first short story published when I was seventeen in American Youth Literary Digest. I have had poems and short stories published by various small presses, including Viewpoint Magazine, Black Kat Review, Dragon Breath Review, online at fanStory.com, and most recently, A Treasury of American Poetry.
Though I hold a degree in English Literature, I like to think that I've learned the most about writing from experiencing life. I am working on a book of short stories and poetry, and hope to have it finished by summer, 2004. Within the next few days I will post five samples of my writing for your perusal.
I love my job, working with children of all ages at the local community center, but consider my "real" job to be writing.
