 My name is Carla Sofia Lopes Ribeiro. I’m eighteen years old and I live in Portugal. Whenever you want to talk to me, you can search me in my e-mail: carl_resende@iol.pt. Although it is my biggest dream, I have no book published by now. I have already won some contests, but no one has found me yet and I still searching.
I don’t know well how to talk about me, and I don’t have a big biography, because I am not a famous writer (at least for now), although I’d love to. That’s why I will only speak about my dream and about what I feel when I write.
I began writing when I was fourteen, and I did it because I felt the need to express my feelings. Since then, I felt that I had found exactly what I wanted to do.
Still, I was afraid to show it, afraid to hear that what I had done was worthless, and, for a while, I didn’t show it to anyone.
But, one day, I decided to show it to a teacher, who is also a big friend of mine, and I found out that my fear was wrong: he told me my work was good and gave me the courage to go on. He helped more that I could ever imagine someone would and I am really thankful for that.
Since then, I began participating in some contests and I reached the situation in which I am: I’ve won some prizes, but I remain undiscovered.
No matter what, I know I will never stop writing, because that is the way I found to express my feelings and show my vision of the world to those who want to see it.

MY ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
- In some online poetry contests, some of my poems have been selected for publication in the USA, by the International Library of Poetry (poetry.com) and by the Voices Network (voicesnet.org).
- In Portugal, I achieved several prizes:
- First place in the modality of Poetry, in the contest “Uma Aventura… Literária 2002”
- Honorable mention in the contest “Uma Aventura… Literária 2001”
- Several prizes in the school competition, in the modalities of poetry, short story and theater.
- Second place in the literary contest “Descobrir Vizela” - 2003
- Third place in the literary contest “Douro Leituras” - 2003
- Second place in the contest "Segredos da Minha Terra - Biblioteca Municipal de Vouzela" - 2004 - In Brazil, I’ve been selected to participate in an anthology from “AG edições”, after a competition in which I got the third place ex-aequo, in the short story modality.
- First place in the modalities of poetry and short story in the "Março Mulher- prefeitura de Guaratinguetá - 2004" - I have been invited by Noble House Publishers to participate in the anthology “Colours of The Heart”, which will be published in the United Kingdom.

MY NEWS:
For now, I have no big news to tell, because, although I have several works ready, I have none of them published. If someday it happens, I will tell you in this little place.
